Veterans Day 11/11/09
Sir! No Sir! Is the story of the GI movement to end the war in Vietnam. One of the most vibrant and widespread upheavals of the 1960’s – one that had a profound impact on American society, yet has been virtual obliterated from the collective memory of that time.
Wally Myers will be part of the panel that will discuss the film.
7 pm NCSU Campus Cinema at the Student Center, 2810 Cates Ave, Raleigh 27695

School of the Americas Watch 11/20-22/09
The military coup by SOA graduates in Honduras has once again exposed the destabilizing and deadly effects that the School of the Americas has on Latin America. The actions of the school’s graduates are unmasking the Pentagon rhetoric and reveal the anti-democratic results of U.S. policies. It is time for a change towards justice. Thousands will vigil at the gates of Fort Benning, Georgia, to stand up for justice, to shut down the School of the Americas and to end the oppressive U.S. foreign policy that the school represents.
